I am frequently tasked to “make things pretty.” Yes, that is a part of good design, but it is so much more than that.  The function of design is to communicate a message that it is impactful, honest and clear. Good design is aesthetically pleasing and intuitive - at least it should be. Too many bells and whistles bury the message, but too vanilla dilutes the message. I stay between these two dynamics - clean, beautiful, useful, and innovative design. I can do that!
